IMPLEMENTASI MANAJEMEN BIMBINGAN DAN KONSELING DALAM MENINGKATKAN MINAT BELAJAR SISWA

Abstract

This study aims to describe the implementation of guidance and counseling management in improving students’ learning interest at SMA Negeri 1 Lempuing Jaya. This study employed a qualitative approach using a descriptive method. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation involving the principal, guidance and counseling teachers, homeroom teachers, and students. Data analysis was conducted through data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results showed that the implementation of guidance and counseling management was carried out through four main functions: planning, organizing, implementation, and program evaluation. The guidance programs provided included orientation services, information services, individual counseling, group counseling, academic guidance, as well as collaboration with homeroom teachers and parents. The implementation of these programs contributed to improving students’ motivation, discipline, participation, and learning interest. Supporting factors included the principal’s support, cooperation among all members of the school community, and the availability of adequate facilities and infrastructure. Meanwhile, the inhibiting factors included limited time for guidance and counseling services, an insufficient number of guidance and counseling teachers in relation to the number of students, and the low awareness of some students regarding the importance of participating in guidance and counseling services. Therefore, the implementation of guidance and counseling management plays an important role in improving students’ learning interest at SMA Negeri 1 Lempuing Jaya.
