STAD DAN GAMIFIKASI: MEMBANGUN MOTIVASI BELAJAR BAHASA INGGRIS ANAK DI WILAYAH PESISIR PANTAI AMAL TARAKAN

Abstract


Tim dosen Pendidikan Bahasa Inggris Fakultas Keguruan dan Ilmu Pendidikan, Universitas Borneo Tarakan, Kalimantan Utara, berinisiatif melakukan kegiatan pengabdian di wilayah pesisir kota Tarakan, dengan target para pelajar dari jenjang pendidikan dasar dan menengah. Kegiatan pengabdian difokuskan pada pengajaran bahasa Inggris menggunakan metode STAD dan gamifikasi sebagai strategi pendukungnya. Materi yang diberikan ditekankan pada penguasaan kosakata bahasa Inggris dan keterampilan berbicara. Metode kegiatan ini adalah pembelajaran kooperatif, strategi gamifikasi, dan pendekatan evaluatif. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan tingkat partisipasi dan antusiasme peserta yang tinggi, terutama dalam aspek penguasaan kosakata aktivitas harian, hewan, buah, sayuran, dan presentasi sederhana. Selain itu, kegiatan ini turut berimplikasi pada motivasi para peserta untuk mempelajari bahasa Inggris.
