Peer Review Process

To maintain the highest level of publication quality, Eksakta adheres to a policy of double-blind peer review. All research articles published in the Eksakta undergo a rigorous peer review procedure, which consists of the following fundamental components:

  1. Eksakta is using a two-stage procedure: Your manuscript will first be evaluated by the editorial team for acceptability for publishing in the journal after the technical review. If appropriate, it will then be given to one of the editors to handle the evaluation and decision-making process.
  2. Your work will be assigned to an Editor if your submission fits JMH's requirements and its scope. Reviewers who are regarded as experts in their fields will be selected and contacted by the editor. Peer review is a volunteer service, therefore it can take some time, but be assured that the editor will follow up with reviewers on a regular schedule if they don't respond right away. The status will remain "Under Review" during this time.
  3. It is also possible that the Editor will determine that your submission does not satisfy the journal's standards or scope and so will not be further evaluated. In such condition, the editor will promptly tell you that your paper has been rejected and may suggest an alternative publication.

Peer review of referred papers:

The Eksakta editors will promptly determine whether to accept, reject, or seek adjustments of submitted manuscripts based on the reviews and editorial insights from the Reviewers. Moreover, Editors have the option to seek additional evaluations as necessary. When the Editors determine that additional review is necessary, the authors will be notified. The editor will evaluate submitted articles based on the topic and writing style described in the journal guidelines. To maintain academic quality requirements, all articles undergo double-blind peer review, in which the reviewer and author identities are concealed from each other during the review process. In brief, these are the steps:

  1. Manuscript Submission (by author).
  2. Manuscript Evaluation and Selection (by manager and editors).
  3. Editors have the authority to immediately accept, reject, or evaluate submissions. Prior to further processing steps, each article undergoes a Turnitin plagiarism check.
  4. Manuscript Reviewing Process (by reviewers).
  5. Notification of Manuscript Acceptance, Revision, or Rejection (by editor to author based on reviewers comments).
  6. Manuscript Revision (by author)
  7. If the Editor satisfied with revision, notification for acceptance (by editor).
  8. Galley proof and publishing process.

The peer-reviewing process is divided into rounds, with stages 1 through 5 considered as the first round. The editor or editorial board weighs the suggestions made by the peer reviewers before arriving at the final decision. The most common decisions are the following:

  1. Accepted without any changes.
  2. Accepted with minor revisions, indicating that the manuscript is suitable for publication but requires some limited modifications to meet the necessary standards.
  3. Accepted with major revisions, implying that the manuscript needs substantial changes before it can be reconsidered for publication.
  4. Rejected, which usually occurs if the manuscript falls outside the journal's scope and aims, has significant technical or descriptive issues, or lacks clarity in presentation.

Archiving

EKSAKTA: Jurnal Penelitian dan Pembelajaran MIPA is committed to preserving its published scholarly content and supporting its long-term digital accessibility through electronic archiving and digital preservation practices integrated with the Open Journal Systems (OJS) platform.

The journal supports the use of recognized digital preservation systems, including LOCKSS (Lots of Copies Keep Stuff Safe), CLOCKSS (Controlled Lots of Copies Keep Stuff Safe), and the PKP Preservation Network (PKP PN), to facilitate the collection, preservation, and continued accessibility of published articles.

These digital preservation systems provide mechanisms for maintaining copies of journal content independently of the journal's primary publishing website. Such measures are intended to reduce the risk of permanent content loss resulting from technical failures, data loss, or interruptions to the journal's online publishing services.

EKSAKTA will continue to develop and maintain appropriate electronic archiving practices to support the continuity, integrity, and accessibility of its published scholarly record.

Plagiarism Policy

Before going to review process, all manuscripts will be checked that they are free from plagiarism practice (less than or equal to 20% similarities). If there an indication of plagiarism (higher than 20% similarities), the manuscript will instantly be rejected.

Post-Publication Discussion

Eksakta Jurnal Penelitian dan Pengabdian MIPA welcomes discussion of the work it has published. Scholarly debate after publication is part of how a field corrects and advances itself, and the journal provides a formal channel for it.

How to raise a comment

Readers who wish to comment on, question, or dispute a published article may write to the editorial office at [surel redaksi], stating the article concerned and the substance of their comment.

How comments are handled

Where the Editor in Chief considers the matter to be of scientific interest, the correspondent is invited to submit a formal letter for publication, and the original authors are invited to reply. Both are published in a subsequent issue, each with its own Digital Object Identifier, so that the exchange becomes part of the permanent scholarly record and can itself be cited.

Correspondence is subject to the same editorial standards as other content and is reviewed before publication.

What is not published through this channel

The journal does not publish comments that are defamatory, that make allegations without supporting evidence, or that concern matters unrelated to the scholarly content of the article.

Allegations of research misconduct are not handled here. They are addressed under the policy on allegations of research misconduct. Factual errors in a published article are addressed under the policy on correction and retraction.

Conflict of Interest Policy

A conflict of interest exists where a financial, professional, institutional, or personal relationship could reasonably be seen to influence the judgement of an author, a reviewer, or an editor. The existence of such a relationship is not in itself improper; failing to disclose it is.

Authors

Every manuscript must carry a Conflict of Interest Statement, whether or not a conflict exists. Authors must disclose employment, consultancy, share ownership, honoraria, paid expert testimony, patent applications, and any funding or other relationship connected with the subject of the manuscript. Where the study uses data supplied by an organisation to which an author is connected, that connection and the role of the organisation must be stated.

Reviewers

Reviewers must decline an assignment where they have a conflict of interest that cannot be managed, for example where they work at the same institution as an author, have collaborated with an author in the last three years, or have a competing manuscript on the same topic. Where a reviewer is uncertain, the matter should be raised with the Editor before the review is undertaken.

Editors

An editor who has a conflict of interest in relation to a manuscript must take no part in the handling of that manuscript, and the Editor in Chief must assign it to another editor. Where the Editor in Chief is an author of the manuscript, or otherwise conflicted, the handling of that manuscript is delegated entirely to another member of the Editorial Board, and the Editor in Chief has no access to the decision.

The journal keeps a record of disclosures made during the handling of each manuscript within the journal platform.
