Abstract


Kepemimpinan yang melayani adalah topik yang menarik untuk dipelajari karena, dalam gaya kepemimpinan ini, para pemimpin mengutamakan orang-orang yang dipimpinnya. Tinjauan bukti empiris mengungkapkan bahwa kepemimpinan yang melayani sangat efektif dalam menginspirasi anggota untuk melangkah lebih jauh dalam membantu mencapai tujuan organisasi.  Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk pengetahui karakteristik empati dalam model kepemimpinan servant leadership dalam Kongregasi Suster-suster Carolus Borromeus. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian kualitatif menggunakan metode wawancara mendalam untuk mengumpulkan data-data penting. Data-data yang dikumpulkan dianalisis menggunakan pendekatan Interpretative Phenomenological Analysis (IPA).  Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa empati merupakan kriteria yang mendasarkan dan dibutuhkan dalam kepemimpinan yang melayani. Karakteristik empati ini dapat dikaitkan dengan spiritualitas para suster CB yang memiliki kekhasan belarasa dan cinta tanpa syarat.  Penelitian juga menunjukkan bahwa  pemimpin yang melayani tidak berhenti pada suasana atau lingkungan positif yang salah satunya dilandasi oleh sikap empati.
