AbstractBandar Setia Village, Percut Sei Tuan Subdistrict, Deli Serdang Regency, particularly Hamlet 6, is a densely populated residential area with narrow alleys and inadequate lighting, increasing the potential for nighttime security disturbances. The community partner is the Community Security and Night Patrol Group (Siskamling/Ronda Malam) of Jl. Swadaya 1, Gg. Intan, Hamlet 6, coordinated by the Community Security Coordinator and supported by the Head of Hamlet 6. The main challenges include the limited effectiveness of conventional night patrol methods, inadequate lighting facilities, suboptimal coordination, and uneven community participation, which may increase the risks of theft, vandalism, and reduced residents’ sense of safety. To address these issues, the activity introduces Smart Poskamling Training, utilizing sensor-based technology and automated lighting to enhance nighttime security. Participants receive training in device installation, operation, basic maintenance, and patrol coordination. The activity is implemented through four stages: preparation, socialization, technical training, and evaluation. The program is expected to improve environmental security, increase active community participation in night patrol activities, strengthen coordination, and promote the use of simple technology for sustainable community-based security.
