DAMPAK PENGGUNAAN MEDIA SOSIAL TERHADAP CYBERBULLYING DI KALANGAN PELAJAR SMP

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menggambarkan bentuk, pola, motif, serta dampak cyberbullying pada siswa SMP, serta mengidentifikasi upaya penanganan yang dilakukan sekolah. Penelitian menggunakan desain studi kasus dengan pendekatan kualitatif di SMP Negeri 16 Kupang. Informan dipilih melalui purposive sampling, terdiri dari siswa kelas VIII, guru BK, dan wali kelas. Data dikumpulkan melalui wawancara semi-terstruktur, observasi non-partisipan, serta analisis dokumen, kemudian dianalisis menggunakan tahapan reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan melalui triangulasi sumber. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa cyberbullying muncul dalam bentuk penghinaan melalui pesan digital, penyebaran foto tanpa izin, pengucilan dalam grup, dan penggunaan akun palsu. Interaksi digital siswa sangat intens dan terkait erat dengan dinamika sosial di dunia nyata. Motif pelaku meliputi balas dendam, kebutuhan pengakuan kelompok, serta tindakan iseng yang berulang. Dampak terhadap korban mencakup kecemasan, penurunan motivasi belajar, menarik diri dari pergaulan, dan perubahan perilaku digital. Sekolah telah melakukan konseling, mediasi, dan pemanggilan orang tua, namun program literasi digital belum berjalan optimal. Kesimpulannya, cyberbullying merupakan fenomena sosial yang dipengaruhi interaksi pertemanan dan penggunaan media digital, sehingga penanganannya memerlukan pendekatan komprehensif melibatkan sekolah, orang tua, dan siswa.
