EXPLORING ACADEMIC RESILIENCE IN INDONESIAN STUDENTS STUDYING OUTSIDE THEIR HOME REGIONS: A MULTIDIMENSIONAL AND CULTURALLY-ROOTED PERSPECTIVE

Penelitian ini bertujuan mengeksplorasi tingkat resiliensi akademik mahasiswa Indonesia yang menempuh pendidikan di luar daerah asal mereka, dengan pendekatan multidimensi yang berakar pada konteks budaya lokal. Resiliensi akademik didefinisikan sebagai kapasitas individu untuk bertahan, beradaptasi, dan pulih dari tantangan akademik serta tekanan sosial-budaya selama masa studi. Penelitian menggunakan metode kuantitatif dengan desain survei deskriptif terhadap 102 mahasiswa dari berbagai wilayah di Indonesia yang sedang menempuh studi di perguruan tinggi di dalam dan luar Pulau Jawa. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah skala resiliensi akademik yang telah divalidasi, mencakup empat dimensi: ketangguhan akademik, pemecahan masalah, kecerdasan menghadapi kesulitan, dan penyesuaian diri. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa mahasiswa perantau memiliki tingkat resiliensi akademik yang relatif tinggi, dengan rata-rata skor 83,72. Analisis lebih lanjut mengungkap bahwa perempuan memiliki tingkat resiliensi lebih tinggi dibanding laki-laki, dan mahasiswa dari daerah dengan tantangan geografis besar (seperti Papua dan NTT) tetap menunjukkan ketahanan yang kuat. Faktor-faktor internal seperti efikasi diri, motivasi, serta keterampilan metakognitif, dan faktor eksternal seperti dukungan sosial dan nilai budaya lokal seperti gotong royong, tawakal, serta falsafah hidup tradisional berkontribusi besar terhadap resiliensi akademik. Hasil ini merekomendasikan perlunya integrasi nilai-nilai budaya lokal dalam kebijakan dan praktik pendidikan tinggi untuk menciptakan pendekatan pengembangan resiliensi yang kontekstual, adaptif, dan bermakna.
